Northridge Presbyterian

Music & Arts

At Northridge, music is not just a part of worship; it is a vital ministry of the church. Our music program draws from a wide range of traditions, including classical, popular, folk, jazz, gospel, Taizé, and Iona styles alongside newly composed works. The throughline is always the same: How does God’s Word speak to us today through music?

Our Ensembles

Chancel Choir

Our flagship ensemble, open to youth and adults. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and sings each Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. Sanctuary service during the program year, with an additional Sunday morning rehearsal at 10:30 a.m.

Outdoor Worship Band

This band leads the 9:00 a.m. outdoor service with music drawn primarily from popular traditions. The ensemble includes vocals, guitar, bass, keys, percussion, and harmonica, and rehearses at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday before worship.

One & Done Choir

No robes. No commitment. Just worship. The One & Done Choir meets on the last Sunday of each month, learns the music for the day, leads worship, and calls it done. Rehearsal starts 30 minutes before worship in the Music Suite. Everyone is welcome.

Chancel Bells

Our handbell ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and performs four to five times throughout the year. Whether playing as a full ensemble or in smaller configurations, the bells bring something genuinely distinctive to our worship. We are always looking for new ringers.

Children's Choir

Open to all children ages two through sixth grade, the Children’s Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:05 a.m. and leads worship four to five times each year. It is one of the most joyful things we do.

Concerts & Community Arts

Our sanctuary was built for music. Its acoustics make it a natural home for chamber choirs and smaller instrumental ensembles, and we actively partner with local and visiting musicians to present concerts that are open to our congregation and our neighbors. Dallas has a rich and vibrant arts community, and we consider it part of our mission to support and celebrate it.
